McLaren 12C Review

By Mark Aria - Lifestyle Adventurist and Adrenaline Junkie

Car Summary

Bespoke in every detail, the McLaren 12C is nothing short of a highly exclusive premium supercar. Take a seat within the interior cockpit and you will immediately be able to identify the quality and intelligence of the craftsmanship. The hand built McLaren 12C has been fitted with rolls and bolts of exquisites materials, ensuring nothing has been spared, from full grain Nappa and perforated leathers, the world class Meridian sound system. Everything that you see, touch and hear within the car has been poised to perfection for enhancing the experience. The result is a peerless supercar that has been wonderfully engineered from within and exquisitely finished from without.

Siphoning the best of F1 race track technology and transforming its use to the urban road, the McLaren 12C from its every detail, surface and configuration has been designed to enhance performance and the pure thrill of the drive.

The spectacular supervillain-like dihedral doors, go a long way to help give the McLaren its aggressive and simultaneously attractive character. While McLaren’s dihedral doors were first seen on the McLaren F1, on the 12C they are lighter and even more aerodynamic, without denying practicality either they are also very easy to open and allow for better access in and out of the car.

The 12C draws on some of the best automotive technological innovation currently on the market, particularly as McLaren is well known for having pioneered the use of carbon Fibre within their formula 1 vehicles. Applying an in depth knowledge and experience of working with carbon fibre has meant unmatched success in the development of the road worthy vehicles. Light and exceptionally robust, more than 30 years of experience of working with carbon fibre, entails excellent results.

“The 12C... is most definitely a pure McLaren. Its broad mid-engined mechanical layout is familiar among supercars but it bristles with McLaren-only technology”.

With a sense of ambition eschewed into every detail, McLaren appears to have set out to create a new supercar that will rival the Ferrari and may just well have achieved that mission. The McLaren 12C, represents a serious competitor in every hallmark, from performance, mechanical composition and price. What makes McLaren possibly all the more impressive is that they are a relatively new company with few other cars built purely on their own in-house technology and expertise.

“Chariots of the Gods: Three exotics ready to take you to supercar paradise–fast.”

In prestigious class and rare performance, the McLaren 12C sits on a stature that rivals some of the world’s most prominent supercars. Possessing more than just mere speed, exceptional grip, stampeding horsepower and sticky tires, to reach this echelon the McLaren has to perform as the all time perfect car. Pushing the McLaren 12C beyond the rest is its combination of highly evolved engineering solutions, selection of fine materials and the ever important significance of its bandwidth. In the manner of all perfect cars, the McLaren 12C forces lesser automotives to the side of the road, due to its sheer presence and unbreakable force of will. It is also the car of choice for the everyday commute as much as the long distance haul. Why? because the ultimate perfect car has no value if it is not driven at all.
