Rolls-Royce Ghost Review

By Mark Aria - Lifestyle Adventurist and Adrenaline Junkie

Car Summary

Rent a Rolls Royce Ghost Series II to drive a commanding luxury car with uncompromising road presence. This extraordinary four-door five-seat executive car is incredibly powerful and stunningly beautiful, making it one of the most desirable automobiles on the road.

A twin-turbo, 6.6 litre, V12 engine pushes the Rolls-Royce Ghost from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 1249 km/h and produces 563 bhp. Innovative engineering, including a speed-sensitive variable-rate power assisted steering ensures that driving the Rolls-Royce Ghost is effortless, and there are a range of advanced technological systems to assist you on the road.

Satellite Aided Technology, for example, uses GPS data and the sat-nav system to scan the road and automatically select the appropriate gear on the eight-speed transmission, ensuring enhanced control and brilliant performance, with no unnecessary gear changes.

The design of the Ghost’s front end reflects the immense power under the bonnet. With instantly recognisable LED headlights and daytime running lights, as well as a subtly sculpted bumper, a chrome grille and 21” wheels, the look is bold and commanding. Every model is hand built to order and every detail is meticulous designed and crafted for quality and style.

The leather is hand-stitched, with 9-hides of leather used in each vehicle and the wooden surfaces created using the wood of a single tree for a seamlessly flowing veneer. In the cabin, the sculpted seats ensure the perfect driving position, with controls cleverly placed for effortless driving.

The Rolls-Royce Connect system integrates your car with your iPhone, and wifi enables you to remain connected at all times, whilst a bespoke 18-speaker audio system delivers the perfect acoustic balance in the cabin. Driving luxury to new heights, the Rolls Royce Ghost is one of the finest prestige cars available.

“From the opulence inside to its on-road poise, the Ghost is something beyond. A fine, fine thing”

The Rolls-Royce Ghost has been a massive success, and fortunately the latest Ghost II has undergone few enhancements. A ‘wake channel’ line along the bonnet resembles a vapour trail and a ‘waft line’ adds a sense of dynamism, whilst new LED headlights and daytime running lights further enhance its commanding presence. Inside the cabin, the newly designed front seats and audio sound system are superb and an excellent Satellite Aided Transmission analyses GPS data and your driving style to select the appropriate gear for the coming terrain. Once again, everything about the Rolls Royce Ghost is simply excellent.

“The entry level Rolls-Royce, the Ghost is sharper looking, packed with more technology and feels as special as ever”

Subtle design changes, including new wider and slimmer LED lights and a reshaped front bumper and fenders outwardly differentiate the new Ghost II from previous models, whilst inside there are new front and rear seats. The quality of leather and craftsmanship in the cabin is excellent, with a highlight being the crystal-topped rotary knob and deep shag pile carpets. There is an 8-speed transmission, taken from the Rolls Royce Wraith, which takes information from the sat-nav to change the gears, whilst the 563 bhp 6.6L V12 engine remains the same. The drive is superb, and in a luxury car built for comfort and a sense of occasion, you’ll literally feel like you are floating along the road..
