Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Review

By Mark Aria - Lifestyle Adventurist and Adrenaline Junkie

Car Summary

The ultimate open-top driving experience is yours when you hire a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead coupé. Inspired by the elegant J-Class yachts of the 1930’s, you can’t help but enjoy a feeling of prestige and opulence when you cruise around town in a 2-door, 4-seat convertible Rolls Royce Phantom.

Representing the pinnacle of the luxury car market and finished to the highest degree of quality, the Rolls Royce Phantom is a timeless beauty. Rolls Royce aimed to produce the best car in the world, and in the Rolls Royce Phantom many would say they have succeeded.

A powerful V12 engine delivers incredible performance, producing 720 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm and a power output of 453 bhp, while an advanced air suspension system, lightweight aluminium body and finely tuned gearbox ensure the drive is dynamic at all times.

The top speed is 241 km/h, and this mighty machine can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, an impressive feat for a vehicle of this size and stature. A central console with an 8.8-inch monitor to connects you with Rolls Royce’s infotainment system and sat-nav.

With yards of sumptuous leather in its luxurious cabin, hand-stitched upholstery, heated seats and generous space for passengers to sit back and relax, you can enjoy exclusive first class travel wherever you go. The five layers of material that make up the retractable roof ensure the cabin remains quiet and calm with the hood up, and it takes just 25 seconds to retract and be neatly stowed at the rear.

You’ll find plenty of luggage space for you and your passengers, and the added advantage of a foldaway picnic table, proving that this car is not only stylish and elegant; it is also a place to have fun. Park up at any beauty spot or party and enjoy alfresco dining, with a beautiful teak table seat emerging from the boot space.

Whether you are travelling for business or leisure, the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead coupé is certainly one of the best convertibles you’ll ever travel in.

“The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé is perhaps the ultimate statement of luxury in the car world”
This soft-top ‘coupé’ is a rare beast with rear-opening doors, a finely handcrafted interior and a ride so quiet it has to be experienced to be believed. It is a genuine four-seater, with a good-sized boot and a fold-down picnic area. The 6.75 L engine is powerful and refined, and the suspension has a brilliant ability to absorb bumps in the road, ensuring your comfort over long distances. The dashboard is laid out simply and is beautifully crafted, while the interior is trimmed with the finest wood and leather, with a cleverly concealed satnav, phone and entertainment system. Steering is light and easy, and the acceleration effortless, so if you are looking for the ultimate in luxury, presence and comfort, the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead coupé is the car for you.

“The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupé is a unique way to travel, perhaps more like a beautifully built water craft than a car”

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupé is too large to drive like a racing car, but the drive is dynamic, steering accurate and reactions quick. The 6.75-litre V12 engine is graceful and refined, and capable of accelerating quickly when it needs to. The cabin is sumptuous and superbly crafted, and with the roof up it is blissfully quiet. This is a powerful luxury car with an underlying solidity that is faultless.
