Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster Review
Car Summary
The iconic Aston Martin Vantage has received a sporting boost with the Aston Martin Vantage S. While retaining the classic Vantage styling, the 2-door, 2-seat Aston Martin Vantage Roadster boasts a range of racetrack inspired features, including 19” alloy wheels and a lower front bumper finished in carbon fibre.
The mighty 4.7L V8 engine is even more powerful, developing 430 bhp and 490 Nm of torque, and the design is more aggressive and athletic. Drive one of the most beautiful cars on the road when you hire an Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster.
A new seven-speed ‘Sportshift II’ manual transmission delivers incredibly fast gear changes whilst allowing the driver an increased sense of control. Top speed is 305 km/h and 0-100 km/h takes just 4.8 seconds, and one touch of the ‘Sport’ button quickens gear changes and provides a more aggressive throttle response.
New springs and dampers, wide rear wheels and dynamic stability control (DSC) enhance the Vantage S’s driving dynamics, and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) provides support for emergency braking situations.
As a convertible, this mighty roadster remains strong and athletic, with a fabric hood that retracts in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 48 km/h. The look is bold, with a clear sense of purpose and presence, and the sound is incredible, engineered by Aston Martin’s own Sound Engineers. Inside the cabin, you’ll find racetrack inspired stitching on the soft, luxurious leather and lightweight seats to enhance passenger and driver comfort.
With racetrack performance and luxurious comfort, the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is a sports car at the top of its game.
Reviews“The V8 Vantage S Roadster is a sportier version of Aston Martin's stunning entry-level drop-top, aimed at driving enthusiasts”
Adding extra aggression to the V8 Vantage Roadster, the S version comes with a lower front splitter, new rear diffuser and chunky side sills. The 4.7L V8 engine is enhanced to produce 430 bhp and 0-62mph takes just 4.5 seconds, to a top speed of 189 mph. Firm spring and dampers, excellent steering and wide tires ensure there is plenty of grip on the road and the taught fabric hood is integrated into the design to maintain the sleek lines with the top up or down.
“…the increase in grip, control and agility makes the S the pick of the Vantage range”
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S comes with a 4.7-litre V8 engine that produces 430bhp (up 10bhp) and 361lb ft (up 15lb), thanks to improved breathing and more accurate spark ignition. Improvements include a new exhaust system and a brand new seven-speed Sportshift transmission. The engine sound is incredible, and the drive is sharp and powerful. The S feels considerably fast and nimble, and the revised suspension keeps the body stable even when you are pushing the car to its limits.
