Mini Cooper S Review
Car Summary
Hire a Mini Cooper S for brilliant fun in the coupe hardtop version of the iconic British car.
With a powerful engine making 192 hp at 5500 rpm and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds, the Mini Cooper S offers incredible performance and a good fuel economy of 48.7 mpg. The engine only ever uses the minimum of fuel, whilst still delivering an impressive performance and demonstrating its immense muscle.
The Cooper S has a wide track width and a low centre of gravity, as well as strong suspension and a rigid body that allows for an agile drive with excellent hold on the road. Driving like a true sports car, the handling is superb and there is a raft of safety measures, including Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Alarm and Immobiliser system, with a heated front windscreen and Park Distance Control in both the front and the rear.
Brilliant LED headlights with cornering lights, strong Run-flat Tyres and driver and passenger airbags further enhance the safety of the Cooper S, as does the stainless steel active rollover protection system behind the headrests and the all-round protection body to reduce impact from all sides in the event of a collision.
The powerful and elegant Mini Cooper S is a beauty to look at, with its slick sloping windscreen and dynamic sports grille. A step inside the dynamic coupe reveals a racy two-seat sports car with a beautifully finished interior. The instrument panel consists of sporty looking dials and a large round speedometer, whilst the leather seats and door panels ensure your ride will be as luxurious as it is comfortable.
There is storage space behind the seats, and a generous 240 L of boot space at the rear. The Mini Cooper S may be small in size, but it is big in comfort and performance and promises drivers plenty of fun in the sun.
Reviews“Quirky styling and nimble handling help the Cooper S to inject a dose of excitement into your daily commute.”
Designed as if precisely to deliver driving fun, the Mini Cooper S comes out on top with its dynamic handling and funky style. Built with 189-hp that is sourced from a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic that in both cases provides heaps of vroom to give expression to this sports car's athletic intentions. Traditionally, only available in a 3-door model, a 5-door model is now on the market, giving the Cooper S entry into the family car market.
“All-new Cooper S is bigger and better than before. A nice thing to own, but you'll pay for the privilege…”
It may look the same to previous models, but the new Mini, or rather, the very new Mini, is an entirely different car than its earlier predecessors. Without even a single body panel carried over from former editions, it is composed of a new 2.0 litre turbo engine, it has a new face with a longer bonnet that are given a distinct character with a couple of tusk-like air intakes. Overall the exterior is more sculpted but with bigger and bolder rear headlights that help to disguise the coupe’s grander proportions.
