Car Summary

Rule the road when you hire a BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé. Combining the power and capabilities of the BMW X series with the performance and elegance of BMW’s sporty 6-series coupés, the BMW X6 is a remarkable vehicle with incredible appeal.

At the heart of the BMW X6 lies a powerful V8 TwinPower Turbo 450 bhp petrol engine and an eight-speed Steptronic sports transmission. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in an astounding 4.8 seconds, reaches a top speed of 250 km/h and makes 650 Nm of torque between 2000 and 4500 rpm. The new generation BMW petrol engine uses BMW Efficient Dynamics to ensure thrilling power delivery and responsiveness, as well as maintaining low emissions and a good fuel economy.

BMW’s Efficient Lightweight technology is utilised to ensure the lightest yet strongest materials are used in the X6’s production, whilst a raft of energy saving systems, including Automatic Start/Stop, Eco Pro mode and Brake Energy Regeneration all contribute to further energy savings. The 8-speed transmission is able to adjust to your individual driving style, with the option to manually change gears should you require and BMW’s intelligent 4-wheel drive system, xDrive, is able to adapt to any terrain, with excellent traction on the road. Dynamic Stability Control ensures the vehicle remains controllable and stable wherever it goes, with power distributed to front and rear wheels as required, and adjustments made quickly to maintain optimum road contact at all times.

“The second-generation X6 builds on the success of its predecessor with a striking body shape, luxurious interior and great handling for such a large car.”

More efficient and aerodynamic than previous models, the latest BMW X6 is a remarkably popular 4x4. As an upmarket off-roader, it offers both good looks and impressive practicality. You will find plenty of room in the back for three adults in spite of its coupé inspired sloping roof, as well as a high driving position and a generous amount of boot space. The 4.4L V8 petrol engine provides a lot of power, and the X6 comes with plenty of equipment, including sat-nav, heated seats and cruise control all fitted as standard.

“The X6 represents another niche for BMW, and another answer to a question we thought no one was going to ask”

The design of the X6 is all about the imposing front, with large headlights, split front air intakes and large kidney grilles designed to give an impression of size and power. The X6’s roof slopes gently to the rear in an authentic coupé-like fashion, and the rear diffuser adds a muscular stance at the back. The 4.4L V8 engine is a masterpiece of engineering, with power delivered instantly and constantly, and demonstrating an impressive level of flexibility throughout its rev range. The ride proves to be firm and controlled, with the 4x4 system operating well on road and off-road.
