LaFerrari Review

By Isabella Cunningham - Lifestyle Guru and Socialite

Car Summary

A rare sight on the road, the limited production hybrid LaFerrari represents the pinnacle of Ferrari high performance engineering. Advanced technological innovations and intelligent design combine to present the most extreme performance of any Ferrari ever produced. Find yourself driving luxury to the limits in an incredibly sought after supercar when you hire a LaFerrari.

A rear-wheel drive 2-door Berlinetta with a 6.3l V12 engine and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the LaFerrari is the first Ferrari production car to be fitted with the HY-KERS system, derived from F1 hybrid technology. An electric motor produces over 150 CV, combining with the 800 CV at 9250 rpm produced by the V12 engine to achieve the highest energy output of any Ferrari, whilst reducing fuel consumption by 40%.

This stunning Sportscar guarantees incredible performance, with a top speed of over 350 km/h and 0-100 km/h reached in under 3 seconds. There are a number of intelligent control systems, including ESC stability control, ABS/EBD anti-locking brakes, electronic brake distribution, EF1-Trac F1 electronic traction control and SCM-E Frs magnetorheological damping. Aerodynamics have been built into every part of the design to increase performance, while the carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes are integrated with the other vehicle dynamics systems for incredible results.

LaFerrari’s carbon fibre monocoque is designed to perfection, with a striking silhouette and dramatic proportions that emphasise this outstanding hypercar’s strength and agility. The cabin and engine compartment are contained in the wheelbase, lowering the centre of gravity for increased efficiency and balance, and the F1 inspired driving position, with a fixed seat and adjustable steering wheel and pedal box, allows drivers to find their preferred driving style. The controls are ergonomically integrated into the steering wheel, gear levers are connected to the steering wheel column and sat nav, audio and telemetry displays are delivered via a with a 12.3" TFT digital instrument panel.

The LaFerrari blends advanced technological innovation with Ferrari tradition to create one of the most thrilling cars on the road.

“Andrew English has his socks well and truly blown off by Ferrari’s latest supercar, LaFerrari”

The LaFerrari is utterly gorgeous, with stunning curves and a sweeping aerodynamic design that channels wind over and under the body and through ducts and radiators to suck and pump the car onto the road. Ferrari have worked hard to maximise performance and the driving experience, with a strong yet light carbon-fibre body and a powerful 6.0L V12 engine and electric motor that when combined produce over 950bhp. Taking inspiration from F1, the drivers seat is located low in the carbon-fibre body, and the ride is surprisingly comfortable for such a powerful sportscar.

“The LaFerrari is very possibly the world’s fastest, most exciting hypercar.”

With more power and less weight than other Ferrari’s, the LaFerrari is the ultimate supercar. With just 499 models planned for production, it is highly limited and extremely sought after, and advanced engineering allows drivers to push the LaFerrari to its limits with ease. The naturally aspirated V12 engine generates 790 bhp at 9000 rpm and 516 lb ft of torque at 6750rpm, already making it more powerful than the Ferrari Scuderia, but add the 160 bhp and 199 lb ft from the electric motor and you get an incredible 950 bhp and 715 lb ft of torque. This masterpiece from Maranello is one of the world’s most exciting cars.
