With characteristic headlights imbedded in the bonnet, imposing air intakes in the front apron and sloping roofline to the rear, the silhouette displays Porsche’s classic muscular agility. The side blades accentuate the cars sporting ability, whilst the rear pays homage to the incredible Porsche 911, with narrow LED taillights and a wide, low stance that implies power and speed.
The six-cylinder turbo diesel direct injection engine is paired to an automatic 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission for motorsport-style gear changes and reduced fuel consumption. Steel spring suspension allows precision driving, while Porsche Stability Management (PSM) ensures stability at all levels. The interior is designed for maximum driver and passenger comfort, with an ergonomic design that integrates the driver with the vehicle and an elevated driving position putting you in the seat of power.
The instrument panel has a three-tube design and a centrally positioned rev counter, as well as a 4.8-inch colour screen to interact with the intelligent onboard Porsche Car Connect (PCC) and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) computer system.
You’ll find dual-zone automatic climate control, racing style seats and a large luggage compartment; 500 L with all seats in place, increasing to 1500 L with all seats folded. The multifunction three-spoke sports steering wheel allows you to keep your hands on the wheel, and the gearshift paddles are positioned to enable fast and sporty gear changes.
The Burmester ® High-End Surround System ensures you’ll enjoy the ride as much as the final destination, and the advanced panoramic roof system lets you enjoy best of the open air driving without being exposed to the elements. The Porsche Macan Diesel is brilliant fun, with a smooth drive and impressive power. The diesel comes with a 3.0L V6 engine with 254 bhp, manages 46.3 mpg and the beautifully executed body is full of classic Porsche features. The interior is also typical Porsche, with a 918 inspired steering wheel and comfortable sports seats. The drive is refined and sporty, and the engine is surprisingly quiet for a diesel. Porsche have succeeded in creating a fantastic family car that is quiet, refined and spacious, with up to 1,500 L storage space with the seats down.

The Porsche Macan is the company’s first foray into the compact SUV world, with the aim of being ‘the first compact SUV that’s also a sports car’. For an SUV, it has incredible speed, takes corners with ease and has fabulous grip on the road. The four-wheel drive system is superb, distributing power to rear and front axles as required and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is one of the best available. The interior is finished to Porsche’s high standards, the infotainment system is top-rate and wind and road noise is almost non-existent when on the move.
