In the perfect combination of Italy meets Switzerland, a sports car rental in Lugano will have you driving along promenades that skirt pristine beaches lined with palm trees and through sunlit lanes that always seem to lead to a piazza or a church.

But these day trips are always made with the Alps prominent in the background. Mountain tours are available that will have you trekking through snow and ice, all to be concluded under the balmy warmth of chestnut trees and a possible swim in Lake Ticino.  

With a great range of sports activities available in Lugano and the wider Ticino region, hire the Porsche 718 Boxster and head out to fill your day with as much activity as possible. Around the lake people frequently go swimming, the Lido di Lugano is a favourite spot as its is also the closest to the city center.

With great amenities available such as 3 swimming pools and a bar, you could easily while away days just within this one spot. There is also the opportunity to hire a boat and go out for a ride on the lake in either paddle boats or speed boats.

For a day full of adventure, head out into the nearby mountains aboard the ravishing Aston Martin Rapide S. The mountains offer a hive of activity from orienteering to mountain bike riding. Mountain bikes can be rented for a reasonable sum and then they are yours for the day. Head out tracks such as Mount Brè, which offers some sensational rustic trails that merge into trails from other surrounding towns.

The Olive Tree Trail is another great mountain bike riding track. The path starts out along the streets from Gandria and leads through to Castagnola, if you like there are signs that you can stop to read along the way which detail the history of olive trees in the region. Trail maps are available from local tourist information spots, but if you’re a bit more tech savvy you may want to look into apps that provide the same information if not more.

Perhaps equal to its love for the great outdoors is also a love of festivals, that where possible are held outdoors. Rent the Mercedes C63 AMG to take advantage of the many festivals and events that are held in Lugano and the surrounding areas of Ticino. Located in nearby Brissago is the cigar manufacturer, Dannemann who hosts the  “Swiss Location Award 2016“. During the event visitors are welcome to flavour the Brazilian scents and flavours that come with live cigar rolling, trying a cigarillo and a caipirinha cocktail. Sounds interesting? Well, we’re certainly intrigued.
